Noodles Nail Polish Holiday Collection 2023 Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hello everyone! Black Friday sales are in full swing for many brands, and I've already bought lots of things. Oops! Noodles Nail Polish always has their biggest sale of the year for Black Friday, and I have all the details for you. This is what Natalie had to say:

"Starts Wednesday November 22nd at 6 pm EST and ends Monday 11:59 PM EST. 25% your entire purchase (excludes new holiday collection), no code necessary or minimum. Discount will be automatically applied at checkout. To view all polishes included in the sale you can click on the tab Black Friday Sale.
Every order of 6 or more polishes will receive a FREE Black Friday 2023 mystery polish (while supplies last-it will be announced if they run out).
No code necessary for this, it will be added when shipping. It can be any 6 polishes, whether they are discounted or not. One mystery per customer, even if placing multiple orders.
I can not combine orders during this sale due to high volume of orders. I apologize for the inconvenience. I will not be able to restock anything that sells out, as shipping orders takes priority during the sale. I will restock what sells out as soon as I can, but nothing will restock during the sale."

There you have it! Definitely check out the website to see what's available to make your wishlist. Tonight I have the 8-piece Holiday Collection that will be releasing along with the Black Friday sale on Wednesday, November 22nd at 6 PM EST and each polish will retail for $10.50 (and are not a part of the Black Friday sale (but do count toward the 6 bottles for the free Black Friday mystery polish). These are always lengthy posts, so shall we get to the good stuff?

Best Techniques for Smoothing Out and Removing Glitter *updated 7/12/23*

Noodles Nail Polish is all about the glitter, all the time. While we all love the bling, it can be a pain to remove. Oh, and it can be known to eat topcoat which leaves texture on the nail after it dries. If you are especially sensitive to feeling your polish, make sure your topcoat is a thick one, or apply a second coat of a thinner one.

Instead of applying 2 coats of thick topcoat, several indie brands have come out with a product that you use after your last coat of polish and before your topcoat. These are generally thick and "fill in" the gaps left from the glitter. Here are several products I use and recommend (in no particular order):

1. Glitter Grabber from Glisten and Glow
2. Gelous from American Classics
3. Smooth from Painted Phalanges (dries with a matte finish unlike the others)
5. Ooh Smooth! Glitter Smoothing Mid-coat from Dreamland Lacquer
6. Smooth and Shine Duo from Esmaltes da Kelly (available through Polish Pickup some months)

To use these glitter grabbing topcoats, it's best to let the polish to dry for several minutes before applying. If you apply the glitter grabber too quickly, the nail polish can eat up the glitter grabber a little, making the polish continue to have a little texture, even after the addition of a quick-dry topcoat. Using it this way requires a little more patience, but it's totally worth it.

I also use peel-off basecoats to make removal a breeze. I recommend UNT Ready for Take OffHit the Bottle Keepin' it Peel, or Black Dahlia Lacquer as they all work well (I am not affiliated with any site or brand...I'm just sharing the love). The UNT works better for my body chemistry as the Hit the Bottle will sometimes pop off during the day. It seems like the UNT has been harder to find lately, so there's always the Holo Taco one if you really need one. If you want your polish to last a little longer, I completely understand. In that case, the foil method will work best for you when you're ready for a change. Clips like these are cheap and great for keeping the cotton balls in place. I hope this helps, and feel free to email me or leave a comment with any questions you may have.

Noodles Nail Polish Better Not Pout (1 coat) over 2 coats of Gridlock Lacquer Resting Grinch Face

What do you think about this base color for Better Not Pout? I was going to do a more traditional color, but at the last minute I went bold. If you're into polishes with a real Christmas vibe, you need to put this one over everything. Everything. Better Not Pout is a clear based glitter topper with silver/red/green metallic glitters in both hexagonal and circular shapes, various shades of pink matte glitters, and a touch of a scattered holo finish. As this is all glitter, it does dry with texture, so make sure to bust out that glitter smoothing topcoat.

Noodles Nail Polish Gingerbread Latte (2 coats)

Up next we have another top pick from the collection and it's chock full of glitter. Gingerbread Latte is a soft medium brown crelly base with metallic green/red/caramel/copper glitter and white matte glitter in various hexagonal sizes. I think it has more glitter than base (in a good way)! I'm not sure if it looks the greatest with my light yellow-toned skin, but I don't care, I love it anyway. This will be a pain to remove unless you use a peel-off base, but it's totally worth it. And yes, please do yourself a favor and use a glitter smoothing topcoat to fill in all those nooks and crannies.

Noodles Nail Polish Miss Christas (2 coats)

How is it my top 3 picks also happen to be the first 3 polishes I'm showing (based on alphabetical order)? Miss Christmas is the sister polish to last-years best-selling holiday polish, Miss Mistletoe (which I also loved). Miss Christmas is a light bubblegum pink crelly base with white matte glitter and red/green metallic glitter. It's dainty. It's holiday. It's lovely. This is 2 medium coats, and it applied flawlessly.

Noodles Nail Polish Sleigh Ride (1 coat) over 1 coat Morgan Taylor Little Black Dress

We got 2 different glitter toppers in this collection! Sleigh Ride has one of my favorite glitter shapes: snowflakes! Give me all the snowflake and star glitters. Sleigh Ride is a clear-based glitter topper with white matte hexagonal and snowflake glitters, and copper/garnet/raspberry metallic glitters in various sizes. I always flip my polishes with larger glitters upside down for at least 20 minutes to make them all float toward the top and I never have an issue with fishing for glitter. A glitter smoothing topcoat is helpful for smoothing the area around the snowflake so you can't feel it anymore.

Noodles Nail Polish Snow Lit Midnights (2 coats)

Continuing on we have a gorgeous one called Snow Lit Midnights which is a denim crelly (leans a bit on the jelly side) with white matte, silver metallic, and iridescent glitter in various hexagonal sizes. It's always hard to really show iridescent glitter, but it really stands out in this one in person. I love this shade of blue for wintertime. Since this has more of a jelly finish, it allows the white glitter to really stand out. Again, I used 2 thicker coats for full opacity, and it applied perfectly. Oh, and it didn't stain my nails. I used a new Zoya a couple weeks ago that was a deep blue and my nails are still stained even after using 2 base coats. Eeek!

Noodles Nail Polish Son of a Nutcracker (2 coats)

Yay, we got a white glitter crelly! Son of a Nutcracker (super funny name!) is a white crelly base with soft green shimmer, green/gold metallic and holo glitters, and yellow matte glitter. I hope the color is coming across right in my photos; I think the gold in this one makes the base look almost a little ivory. I love the combination of green and gold together. I found this one applied a little thinner than some of the other white glitter crellies I've used. By no means was it problematic; it was just something I noticed when applying it. I still needed just 2 coats, even with taking more polish off the brush as to not flood my cuticles.

Noodles Nail Polish Sugar Plum Fairy (2 coats)

I legit didn't know what a Sugar Plum Fairy was so I just Googled it and I had no idea it was from The Nutcracker. Where have I been all my life? Please don't make fun of me 😅 Sugar Plum Fairy the polish is a medium plum purple crelly base with fine copper holo glitters, gold flakes, and a touch of fine holo flakes. Give me all the polishes with glitter and flakes together. This whole collection has a lot of copper glitters in it, and I'm loving it. This is 2 thin coats with a glitter smoothing topcoat and a quick-dry topcoat and it applied seamlessly.

Noodles Nail Polish Winter Blues (2 coats)

Last, but certainly not least we have Winter Blues which is a sky blue crelly base with purple/pink/blue color-shifting flakes, pale blue and white matte glitter, and a touch of fine silver holo glitter and flakes. This is another top pick for me. As I said above, I love the combination of glitter and flakes, and there's nothing like a bright pop of color for a holiday collection.

There you have it, folks! My top picks from the collection are Winter Blues, Miss Christmas, Gingerbread Latte, and Better Not Pout. Don't forget to set your alarms for the Black Friday + Holiday release for Wednesday, November 22nd at 6 PM EST to get some beautiful polishes for a great price.  You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group
