Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day! I hope things have been going well in your world. It's been pretty quiet around here lately. Work is going to be extremely busy in the middle of the month because we're having an online pen show since we're unable to attend any more in-person ones for the rest of the year. These take a ton of prep, but we get a ton done in just a week. Do I have any other fountain pen lovers reading the blog? If not, I highly recommend buying one. Something like the Platinum Preppy will suffice and will set you back less than $5 (not affiliated...just a good company with great CS) and you can refill them with any fun ink colors you want.
Tonight I have the pleasure of sharing the Noodles Nail Polish Halloween collection with you. I hope you're ready to see some fun glitter shapes :-D The set includes 5 polishes - 2 glitter toppers, 2 glitter crellies, and a squishy jelly. All polishes except for Costumes & Candy (a glitter crelly, $9.50) will retail for $10 each. The collection will be released this Friday, October, 8th at 5 PM EST, so set those alarms.

Best Techniques for Smoothing Out and Removing Glitter *updated 10/6/21*
Noodles Nail Polish is all about the glitter, all the time. While we all love the bling, it can be a pain to remove. Oh, and it can be known to eat topcoat which leaves texture on the nail after it dries. If you are especially sensitive to feeling your polish, make sure your topcoat is a thick one, or apply a second coat of a thinner one.
Instead of applying 2 coats of thick topcoat, several indie brands have come out with a product that you use after your last coat of polish and before your topcoat. These are generally thick and "fill in" the gaps left from the glitter. Here are several products I use and recommend (in no particular order):
1. Glitter Grabber from Glisten and Glow
2. Gelous from American Classics
3. Smooth from Painted Phalanges (dries with a matte finish unlike the others)
4. Smooth and Shine Duo from Esmaltes da Kelly (available through Polish Pickup some months)
I also use peel-off basecoats to make removal a breeze. I recommend UNT Ready for Take Off, Hit the Bottle Keepin' it Peel, or Black Dahlia Lacquer as they all work well (I am not affiliated with any site or brand...I'm just sharing the love). The UNT works better for my body chemistry as the Hit the Bottle will sometimes pop off during the day. It seems like the UNT has been harder to find lately, so there's always the Holo Taco one if you really need one. If you want your polish to last a little longer, I completely understand. In that case, the foil method will work best for you when you're ready for a change. Clips like these are cheap and great for keeping the cotton balls in place. Noodles Nail Polish Coffin Break (3 coats, $10)
Up first we have Coffin Break which is a black jelly base with orange holo and metallic glitters, copper holo glitters, and silver holo hexagonal and square glitters. I have a thing for square glitter, I'm not gonna lie. This is that classic black and orange combo, but in a squishy and holo form. Since it is a jelly finish, I found 3 coats to work best for full opacity and depth. This one dries with lots of texture, and for full squish, I recommend a glitter smoother followed by a topcoat. What a start to the collection!
Noodles Nail Polish Costumes & Candy (1 coat over white base, $9.50)
Natalie gave us TWO glitter toppers this year! This one is Costumes & Candy and it's a clear base with small and larger matte black glitters, and neon orange/purple/green dot matte glitters. This one has great glitter density in just 1 dabbed coat. I would flip this one upside down for a while before applying it to make the larger glitters easier to catch. This one dries a bit dull and with texture, so check out my tips above.
Noodles Nail Polish Fright This Way (2 coats, $10)
I always watch Pampered Polishes' YouTube channel for swatches (as should you!) and she said Fright This Way reminds her of Ursula, and now I can't get that out of my head. It's a deep indigo crelly base (leaning purple) with metallic lavender/orange glitters, silver/violet/orange holo glitters and holo flakes. The purple base with the orange glitters are the real standouts here. This one is more opaque than I expected, and 2 thin coats was all that was needed. It dries dull and with a lot of texture, so double up on that topcoat.
Noodles Nail Polish Haunt Mess (2 coats, $10)
Is it even a Halloween Collection without a white crelly from Natalie?! Oh, she gave us a white crelly....WITH STAR GLITTER! You know this is a top pick for me. It's a white crelly base with black matte glitters and stars, and violet/orange holo glitters. I can definitely see this one being a bestseller. I would flip the bottle upside down for about a half hour to make it easier to catch those star glitters. I found that dabbing the stars for placement was the best method for me. I used 2 coats, and it had the perfect formula. Like the others, this one dried with lots of texture and slightly dull.
Noodles Nail Polish Moons Out, Brooms Out (1 coat over Zoya Soko, $10)
You know we're rounding out the collection with another banger. This is Moons Out, Brooms Out which is the other topper from the set and just so happens to be another top pick. It's a clear base with black stars and silver holo moons, white/black matte glitters, and silver holo glitters. I didn't catch any stars in my photos, but I got multiple moons. I mean, if you have the moon, you gotta have some stars, right? I went ahead and used this over Zoya Soko which is a bright red cream and I love how it turned out. Pampered Polishes used a lime green base, and it looked equally lovely so this one is more versatile than I expected. Like the others with the larger glitters, I turned the bottle upside down for 30 minutes before dabbing the glitter on.
