Noodles Nail Polish 2021 Anniversary Trio + Patriotic Polish Swatches and Reviews

*press samples*

Hello hello! I know it's been too long since my last post, but I've really been enjoying some of my older polishes lately. I have a few Zoya posts that will be coming up soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Not much has been going on here in NC. The business I work for moved into a brand new building a couple weeks ago, and it was quite the ordeal. Well, it went better than I expected, but it was still a ton of work. Now that the hard part is done, we've been enjoying the newness of the building. Unfortunately my commute is basically the same, but traffic is much heavier now. Boo to that!

Can you believe Noodles Nail Polish is turning 8 this year? Congratulations to Natalie for such an amazing accomplishment. She consistently comes up with new and beautiful polishes, and I hope she continues to do so for years to come. Tonight I've got the new anniversary trio and 4th of July polish to share with you. They will be available this Saturday, June 26th at 12 PM EST on the Noodles website. Most NNP releases are on Fridays, so set your alarms so you don't forget. All polishes will retail for $9.50 or $10 each and I'll label each polish accordingly. This is going to be a picture-heavy post, so we should get going.

Best Techniques for Smoothing Out and Removing Glitter *updated 2/1/21*

Noodles Nail Polish is all about the glitter, all the time. While we all love the bling, it can be a pain to remove. Oh, and it can be known to eat topcoat which leaves texture on the nail after it dries. If you are especially sensitive to feeling your polish, make sure your topcoat is a thick one, or apply a second coat of a thinner one.

Instead of applying 2 coats of thick topcoat, several indie brands have come out with a product that you use after your last coat of polish and before your topcoat. These are generally thick and "fill in" the gaps left from the glitter. Here are several products I use and recommend (in no particular order):

1. Glitter Grabber from Glisten and Glow
2. Gelous from American Classics
3. Smooth from Painted Phalanges (dries with a matte finish unlike the others)
4. Smooth and Shine Duo from Esmaltes da Kelly (available through Polish Pickup some months)

I also use peel-off basecoats to make removal a breeze. I recommend UNT Ready for Take Off, or Hit the Bottle Keepin' it Peel as they both work well (I am not affiliated with either site or brand...I'm just sharing the love). The UNT works better for my body chemistry as the Hit the Bottle will sometimes pop off during the day. It seems like the UNT has been harder to find lately, so there's always the Holo Taco one if you really need one. If you want your polish to last a little longer, I completely understand. In that case, the foil method will work best for you when you're ready for a change. Clips like these are cheap and great for keeping the cotton balls in place. I hope this helps, and feel free to email me or leave a comment with any questions you may have.

Noodles Nail Polish 8 Years (3 coats) ($10)

Up first we are starting with my favorite polish, 8 Years. It's a purple base with red to golden green shifting shimmer with holo flakes, bronze microflakes, pale pink/lavender holo hexagonal glitters, copper holo glitters, and a touch of holo to finish it off. I tried so hard to capture the green shift! I hope you can see it in the last few photos. Like most shifty polishes, lower light brings out the best shift on the nail. And there's just the right amount of holo (in the form of glitter and holo pigment) to add the bling. I went ahead and used 3 thin coats for my photos, but you may be able to get away with 2 with thicker coats or shorter nails. Like all NNP, the formula was easy to work with.

Noodles Nail Polish Bliss (3 coats) ($10)

Up next we have Bliss which is a deep violet jelly base with neon pink matte glitters, pink/silver holo glitters, and violet/red/gold color shifting flakes. Pink and purple? Yes please! It looks so squishy on the nail, but I definitely recommend a glitter smoothing topcoat for maximum squish. I can definitely see this being a favorite for many. Since it's a jelly, I went with 3 thin coats for full opacity and get rid of any visible nail line.

Noodles Nail Polish Stardust (1 coat over black base) ($9.50)

Nope, we didn't just get one glitter topper, Natalie gave us TWO! The first one we have is Stardust which is a clear-based topper with holo flakies and silver holo glitters. This is one of those toppers that will look good with any base color. I just used black because it provides the biggest contrast. It looks like larger pieces of diamond dust on the nail and I love it. This is just one coat of Stardust, but the glitter/flake density isn't enough to fully cover the nail in 3 coats. I'm really loving the sparkle of this one.

Patriotic Polish Release

Noodles Nail Polish Firecracker (1 coat over black and 3 coats alone) ($9.50)

Every 4th of July needs the perfect red, white, and blue polish, right? Firecracker is another top pick for me, and it's a clear-based topper with silver holo glitters, silver/red/blue metallic flakes, white matte glitters, blue/red metallic glitters, and a touch of holo. It's basically a party on the nail. The different colors are balanced nicely, and you can decide if you want to wear it alone in 3 coats, or over a base color. I again used black, but the world is your oyster here. If you use it alone, bust out that glitter smoother topcoat.

There you have it, folks! My top picks are 8 Years and Firecracker, but any glitter lover will love them all. Let's all congratulate Natalie again for 8 years of hard work and giving us pretty polishes to wear. What are you picking up this Saturday? You can find out more about Noodles Nail Polish on their websiteInstagram pageFacebook page, and Facebook Fan Group.
