Hi guys! This week just went by at a snail's pace, right? There's just something about the week after a holiday that makes things go slowly. This weekend we'll be in the town parade with our dog, Scraggles, for her daycare. She loves it and gets so many pets from children. My husband's been sick all week, so hopefully he's up to it. Tonight I have a new brand to the blog, but not new to the nail scene. In total I have 15 polishes to show you, but I'll be breaking it down into smaller sets so it's more manageable. Tonight I have the new 4-piece Holiday collection that features 3 cremes and 1 shimmer. These are available now for purchase for just $9 each in the Gridlock Lacquer website. Gridlock Lacquer was founded in 2012 by Lisa in Buffalo, NY. The original collection of polishes were themed around the people, places, and things that make Buffalo a unique place. It has since expanded to collections including Pittsburgh and Cleveland as well. A fourth city has recently been released, and I'll be showing that to you soon. Shall we get to some swatches?
Gridlock Lacquer For Your mistleTOES (2 coats)
Up first is For Your mistleTOES which is a deep burgundy shimmer. As with any new brand, I'm always curious how the formula will be. I'm happy to report that these were very smooth and easy to work with. I used 2 thin coats for my photos, and it dried quickly with no texture at all.
Gridlock Lacquer Lump of Coal (2 coats)
You guys know I'm a huge sucker for grey polishes. Lump of Coal is an ash grey creme with blue undertones. This one basically applied itself. It was extremely opaque and mostly covered in just 1 coat, but I did a second for good measure. Love it!
Gridlock Lacquer Mani Thanks (2 coats)
Next is Mani Thanks which is a nice neutral shade for the set. It's a rosy mauve creme that will work well with all skin tones. The formula applied effortlessly (see a theme here?), and I used 2 thick coats for my photos. None of these dried with any texture and were very easy to remove.
Gridlock Lacquer Resting Grinch Face (3 coats)
Last, but certainly not least is Resting Grinch Face which is aptly named. It's that perfect shade of chartreuse just like The Grinch. Did anyone watch the most recent version of The Grinch with Benedict Cumberbatch? I watched the Jim Carrey one and I wonder how they compare. I digress. Anyway, I ended up using 3 thinner coats with this one, but you could likely get away with just 2 with thicker coats or you have shorter nails. Again, the formula was perfect and smooth.
There you have it, such a cute 4-piece set from Gridlock Lacquer. I can't wait to show you guys the newest city collection, too! These retail for just $9.00 which is think is a great price for polishes that applied so well. You can find out more about Gridlock Lacquer on their website, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter pages.
