Hi guys! I'm gearing up for Christmas, so this is going to be a quick post tonight. Somehow pretty much all presents are here and they've been wrapped/shipped! YES, this year it finally happened! Literary Lacquers is releasing a brand new 6-piece collection on December 26th (12 PM MT) and it's inspired by Alice in Wonderland. If that wasn't enough, there's even a free gift with purchase opportunity when you spend $48+ between December 26-January 5 (more info and pictures below). I hope you saved a few bucks in your budget for these, because you won't want to miss out. Shall we get to the good stuff?
Literary Lacquers 6 Impossible Things (3 coats)
Up first we have a festive one called 6 Impossible Things. I can tell you it's an impossible thing to not like this polish! It's a tomato red jelly base with copper and gold holographic microglitter. I ended up using 3 coats for this one, but you could likely get away with 2 with thicker coats. It dries with a bit of texture, so make sure to use a thick topcoat to smooth everything out. The microglitter makes it a bit difficult to remove, so use a peel-off basecoat or the foil method to make things go quicker.
Literary Lacquers Curiouser & Curiouser (2 coats)
Next we have Curiouser & Curiouser which is an icy blue base with larger holographic microglitter. The formula was perfect and needed just 2 coats for full opacity. Again, use a thicker topcoat and you'll need a little extra elbow grease for removal (totally worth it).
Literary Lacquers Grin Without a Cat (3 coats)
Oh yeah, Amy went and made us a multichrome! Grin Without a Cat shifts between purple/pink (and maybe even a little gold at the most extreme angles?) with lots of purple shimmer. This was the sheerest from the collection, but it fully covered all nail lines in 3 coats. I had no issues with the formula, and this one was easy to remove. I also wanted to mention that it had that funky smell that some blue or multichrome polishes can have. It doesn't really bother me, but I wanted to mention it in case anyone is sensitive to it.
Literary Lacquers Tea Time (2 coats)
Tea Time is a gorgeous rose base with gold flakes and a holographic finish. All collections need a good pink, and this one really hits it out of the park! I'm a broken record, but it applied well in just 2 coats.
Literary Lacquers The Golden Afternoon (2 coats)
This is the second collection in a row that has a gold polish as a top recommendation. Trust me, I didn't expect it either! The Golden Afternoon is just so bright and sparkly that I couldn't help but smile while wearing it. It doesn't lean too yellow which will help it be more universally flattering for both warm and cool skintones. It applied exactly like Curiouser & Curiouser, so check that out above for full details.
Literary Lacquers Tulgey Wood (2 coats)
And lastly, Tulgey Wood is a medium brown holo with gold and copper glass flecks. If you need a new work-appropriate polish with flair, this one is for you. It's yet another 2-coater with a good formula and application.
And now the gift with purchase:
Literary Lacquers Be What You Seem To Be (2 coats)
If you spend $48+ between December 26-January 5, you'll get Be What You Seem To Be absolutely FREE! After that date, this one will be gone for good. It's a lilac purple base with lots of holo microglitter. This is 2 thicker coats with topcoat.
There you have it, folks! All of these will retail for $12 with the exception of 6 Impossible Things which will be $10. Set your alarms for 12 PM MT on the 26th to pick these up. My top recommendations are The Golden Afternoon, Tea Time, and Grin Without a Cat. To learn more about Literary Lacquers, check out their website, Facebook Group, Facebook page, and Instagram.
