Zoya Fall 2016 Urban Grunge Collection Swatches and Reviews: Part I of the Cremes

*press sample*

Hi guys! I hope your Labor Day went well. The weather was really nice here so we had a cookout at home. Other than that, I had a quiet weekend. Tonight I'll be showing the first 3 polishes from "the creme" side of Zoya's Urban Grunge collection. I showed the holo and metallic set a couple weeks ago and I was a huge fan, so we shall see if these can measure up.

I first wanted to discuss how Zoya calls these (and the cremes released this past summer) "one coat cremes." Is there anything wrong with wanting one coat coverage? Of course not, but I can't think of many polishes that wouldn't look better with a second coat. Although you could get away with one coat with a couple of these, I would still recommend a second one to really smooth things out. All of my photos tonight (and those in Part II coming later this week) show 2 coats on my nails.

Zoya August (2 coats)

I'm so predictable...of course August is one of my favorite colors from the collection. It's a light grey creme with blue undertones. Can you see the blue, or is it just me? Either way, I love this one. This one was a little streaky on the first coat, so you'll probably want 2 even if you're short for time.

Zoya Courtney (2 coats)

Courtney is more of a crelly than a creme, so you will again want 2 coats. It's a deep vampy red color with brown undertones. This isn't normally a color I gravitate towards, but it's very fall-appropriate. The formula was nice in just 2 coats.

Zoya Mallory (2 coats)

Mallory is a nice, bold blue creme. It is pretty close to Zoya's Sia, but Mallory is a bit darker (see Polish and Paws for comparisons). I would say that Mallory is one of your best bets on just using 1 coat. The formula was perfect and quite pigmented!

What are your initial thoughts on these? These retail for $10 and you can find out more about them on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages. I'm not sure if they're at Ulta just yet, but keep your eye out for them at your local store.
