Right on the Nail ~ Heather's Hues Summer 2016 County Fair Collection Swatches and Reviews: Ferris Wheel Rides at Dusk and Funnel Cake!

Hi guys! My parents were in town for part of last week and this weekend so I missed my usual post on Friday. Sorry! Most of Saturday was spent spending all of our money getting new bookcases and storage at Ikea. I didn't get a new Helmer, but ended up with a wide Alex instead. Any opinions on it? I haven't started filling it yet, but I'll keep you guys updated. I should also mention what a sad weekend it was for all Americans. This senseless act was done to a group of innocent people having fun at a club. The members of the LBGT community I know are some of the most selfless people around. Nobody deserves to have this happen to them, especially the members of the community who are most often persecuted for their sexual orientation. My thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy...and there are lots.

On a much lighter note, I have a few polishes from the Heather's Hues County Fair Collection which was released a few weeks ago. I am a part of the Facebook Group Heather's Hue-t-pies, and I recommend the group wholeheartedly. Heather is very active and involved in the group, and she is just a great person to interact with. Oh, and if that wasn't enough, she also posts sales in there periodically. I purchased these polishes (and a cuticle oil she calls Cutie-cle Oil) on late Sunday night before Memorial Day. She shipped them on Tuesday since Monday was the holiday, and I received them on Wednesday. Can you say great turnaround time? Follow me after the break for some swatches and reviews of the 2 colors I have to share.

Heather's Hues Ferris Wheel Rides at Dusk (2 coats)

Who doesn't like to ride ferris wheels at dusk? Well, I suppose people who don't like heights aren't a fan, but I'm totally on board! The polish is an indigo jelly base with purple and silver microglitters, purple and pink flakes, multi-chrome flakes, and a sprinkling of holo dust. It's a complex polish, but not in an overpowering sort of way. If you are a purple fan, then you need this polish in your life. Despite being a jelly, I only needed 2 smooth coats for full coverage.

Heather's Hues Funnel Cake! (2 coats)

Up next is Funnel Cake! which is a tan/nude crelly with tons of gold and taupe flakes, and a golden holo finish. I love getting neutral polishes like these that have a unique spin to it. While I do love my nude cremes, if given the chance, I will pick the flakie over the creme any day. I don't think this looks the best with my skintone in pictures, but that doesn't mean I didn't love wearing it. I wasn't sure if I would need 2 or 3 coats with this one, but as long as you do 2 fairly thick coats, you should be able to get away with just 2. I must also say that I haven't been disappointed with the formula in any of the Heather's Hues polishes I've tried thus far. Oh, and I love funnel cake, but I think I love elephant ears even more (cinnamon sugar ftw!).

You can get the County Fair Collection in mini ($5-$5.25 each and are 7.5 mL) or full sizes ($9 and are 15 mL). If you want the full set, the mini collection retails for $39.95 or you can get the full size for $67.75 with free decals included. Heather also released 10 new carnival scents for her popular Cutie-cle Oil, which is my go-to oil. You can get it with multiple different applicators which vary in price. I ended up buying the Rootbeer Float and it smells delicious and true-to-the-name. You can find out about Heather's Hues on their Etsy siteInstagram, and Facebook pages. Also, don't forget to sign up to be a part of Heather's Hue-t-pies Facebook group!
