Hi guys! Tonight I have 2 polishes from the latest OPI collection that features polishes inspired by New Orleans (and I'm assuming Mardi Gras). I, like many other bloggers, thought the collection would be full of fun and bright colors that Mardi Gras is known for. OPI decided to go a bit of a different direction, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't a bit disappointed by some of the muted tones they included. Despite this, I still enjoyed the 2 colors I have to show you tonight. Swatch time!
OPI I'm Sooo Swamped (2 coats)
Up first is I'm Sooo Swamped which is a bright grassy green creme. Spring is the time for regrowth and all of that good stuff, so I think this is a very appropriate color for this time of year. I found it had a pretty good formula and only needed 2 coats. If your collection is lacking in greens, I would highly recommend this one (and for all of you green lovers with a million greens, you also need this)!
OPI Show Us Your Tips! (3 coats)
First off, what was OPI thinking with this name? For the most part, nail polish is geared toward women consumers, so why do they think this is something women want to be reminded of when they want to relax and do their nails? I shall get off my soapbox now. With that aside, I think this periwinkle blue color with tons of silver shimmer is beautiful and almost glows on the nail. It applied well, but was a bit sheer and needed 3 coats for full opacity.
OPI polishes retail for $10.00 (they must have raised their prices $0.50 recently) and you can find them at your local Sally's Beauty Supply and Ulta stores. Find out more information about OPI on their Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.
