Hi guys! Did you have a good weekend? My husband and I went to Target today to get some cheap Easter candy and we scored big. Cadbury eggs and jelly beans galore! Tonight I have the first of 2 posts on the newest Zoya collection called the Petals Collection that is inspired by new spring flowers and foliage. Follow me after the break for more swatches and information.
Zoya Aster (2 coats)
Aster is probably the "craziest" color of the collection, and it's not really crazy at all. We have one Stokes Aster plant in our yard and I can definitely see the resemblance. We also have a false aster, but those I believe are white. Anyway, it's a purple color with blue undertones and tons of purple and pink shimmer. All of the colors in the collection contain shimmer, but some are invisible on the nail. Aster is not one of those with hidden shimmer. If you use thicker coats you can get away with 2 layers which is what I used for the swatches above.
Zoya Azalea (2 coats)
Here in North Carolina the azalea bushes are in full bloom. I should take a picture of the one in our front yard because it matches this polish perfectly! It's a bright pink polish with a strong pink shimmer finish. I'd say this one had the best formula and application of the collection and only needed 2 coats.
Zoya Laurel (3 coats)
I actually don't know much about mountain laurel flowers, but the buds seem to match the polish fairly well. This is one of those polishes with the hidden shimmer...it's there if you look closely. It's a softer pink shade with some peach undertones. The formula was actually quite thin, so you need to be extra careful of pooling by the cuticles. I also found it to be a bit sheer so you'll need 3 thin coats to cover any visible nail line.
Stick around for the second installment because there are some more colors inspired by flowers ahead. These retail for $10 and you can find out more about them on their website, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram pages.
