Butter London Yummy Mummy Polish and Lippy

Butter London Yummy Mummy (2 coats) and lip gloss (bottom photo)

Do you ever match your nails to your makeup? If you're like me, you don't. For some reason my nails are a wildcard and I'll rock a polish despite any outfit or makeup. For those of you who do care, Butter London has made it easy for you, coming out with matching polishes and lip glosses called Lippy. Today I have Yummy Mummy (weird name) to show you. It's a beige color with a hint of grey to keep things interesting and a beautiful sprinkling of shimmer. I really enjoy this one for days I want something neutral. The pigmentation and formula was great as well.

As you can see, the Lippy does match the polish pretty well. I wear lots of lipsticks and lip glosses so it was nice to test out what a nail polish company can do. It has a doe foot applicator which is normally great, but these glosses are pretty thick and sticky which made for difficult application. It's not a huge deal, but it does take a bit longer to apply. The other issue I had was with the smell. They have this really strong floral scent to them which can be a deal breaker for those with sensitive noses. I eventually get used to it, but it takes awhile to get to that point. I believe Butter London is going to reformulate the taste/smell so this shouldn't be a problem anymore.

As I said previously, these are sticky glosses and I like sticky glosses because they last so much longer than slippery ones. These glosses definitely last a long time on the lips. Yummy Mummy is a nice neutral color that lots of skintones can wear (I'm an NC25). The price point is a bit high at $17, but is similar to other higher-end glosses.

Like you, my nails and toes are always a wildcard and a non match to any makeup I have on. I did not try any of the Lippys yet because I had heard they were a sticky gloss plus I found this past yr I am enamoured with all 3 finishes of Tart's Lipsurgances - they give me color and still act on my lips like a balm would and I don't end up with dry, peeling lips from em which typically I do from all glosses and far too many lipsticks I have tried.

Ohh I'm totally sold on this color and the lipgloss!! I don't match my nails to my makeup or my outfit! :)

How fun!!

I bought the Lippy in Yummy Mummy today and I totally love it. It does carry a strong waft of fragrance but I justify that with the lovely nude shade :)
